The Full Story

1000 Friends of Oregon has partnered with Portland State University's Multimedia Capstone over a shared goal: raising awareness about the growth of data centers in Oregon, while bringing light to the consequences they have on ecosystems and communities.

 

Seeking justice for individuals affected by the implementation data centers into their communities, 1000 Friends and Portland State University aim to highlight the experiences of those affected by the construction and usage of these facilities.

 

1000 Friends of Oregon was established in 1974 with the goal of maintaining healthy communities and promoting healthy lands within the state of Oregon. They aim to connect the environment with human populations, bridging the two with the intent of protecting interconnected natural areas. They continue to provide support to the public by engaging and collaborating with local communities around the state, with the goal of educating and spreading knowledge.

 

Portland State University's Multimedia Capstone is a course that exists to build relationships and provide support to our local community within Portland and beyond. The course partners with local organizations to assist with community service and outreach.
